Stolen Bikes
Keeping them out of FrankenBike
We have received several calls and emails regarding stolen bikes. Some of you asked us to keep an eye open for your bike during FrankenBike. Others were simply concerned that stolen bikes may be showing up for sale at our monthly swap meets.
Considering that FrankenBike is a highly visible, public event that goes on for several hours each month and that we take photos of all attendees and their bikes, parts or gear and then publish the pictures to our website, we feel the thieves will stay clear of our event to unload stolen goods.
Your best option is and has always been to report stolen bikes to APD. If your bike is stolen call 311 from any U.S. phone and be prepared to provide the following information: make, year and model of bicycle, identifying features, identifying numbers (serial numbers), location, date and time the theft occurred, your contact information.
Still, if your bike was stolen near Austin, Texas, you are welcome to stop by any of our events and check things out or email us and we will publish your info in this section provided you provide a current email and a phone number along with your description. FrankenBike Organizers will not be held responsible for aggravating property disputes or publishing false claims of theft.

My Bike was stolen Sunday between 7 am and 8 am in front of my Apt. on the corner of E. Riverside and Wickersham. I just bought it a week ago and hadn't even been able to ride it. It's a 24" Redline-Proline Cruiser. It still has all the original parts, including the original padding. It's solid aluminum and has red and black lettering.
